Hi, I’m Jenn. When I was in 6th grade, I won a poster contest for D.A.R.E. Now, don’t let that fool you into thinking I’m a square because I most certainly am not. What I am is a designer and a storyteller. That is the lens I see the world through and the way I communicate. I use the word “design” broadly, because I don’t necessarily have a preferred medium and I don’t think design is always visual.

Design is ever present in our world and dictates the ways in which we interact with our environment. I studied graphic design in school and thought I would go on to work for an ad agency or boutique studio, as many design students do, but life had other plans for me. A tragic event changed my trajectory and I found myself gravitating toward nonprofit and social justice work after college. I didn’t really know what that meant, but for me it lead to jobs that required me to learn how to communicate with audiences of various sizes through writing, public speaking, and facilitation. Turns out, that involves design, too! In early 2018 I started taking silversmithing classes to feed my need for a new creative outlet. I immediately fell in love with the process of designing and fabricating jewelry, and haven’t put down the torch and jeweler’s saw since (not really, but you know what I’m getting at).

As you peruse the pages of this website, you will see examples of my visual design work, but I also do work in research and communications, education, and training, with much of my experience focusing on violence prevention. I am passionate about using my skills to help people tell their stories and impact social change. So, check out my resumè, give me a call or send me an email, and hire me for your next project…I may not know what you are looking for, but I know you ended up at my website and that counts for something. Thanks for looking.
